From October 23 to 25, the 29th Turkmenistan Oil and Gas International Conference (OGT 2024) took place in Ashgabat, hosted by the Turkmenistan Ministry of Energy. The conference brought together over 500 guests from 30 countries, facilitating discussions on global energy market trends, investment opportunities, and Turkmenistan’s strategic role in the global energy transition. Invited as a pioneer in China’s clean energy sector, China HK Power participated in the event, represented by Chairman Billy KAN, Executive Director and President Deng Yaobo, and Vice President Liu Yongtao.
On the morning of October 23, following their arrival in Ashgabat, Chairman Mr. Billy KAN visited the China HK Power exhibition booth, engaging with high-level attendees and introducing the Group’s latest developments.
During the exhibition, Li Yue, Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Turkmenistan, met with senior representatives from China HK Power. Li praised the Group’s project plans and business strategy in Turkmenistan, underscoring the embassy’s support and high expectations for the Group’s initiatives.
Over the three-day event, China HK Power showcased its latest advancements and technical strengths in the energy sector, earning recognition and interest from numerous potential investors, establishing a solid foundation for future collaborations. Additionally, the Group engaged in in-depth discussions with prominent companies, including Huawei’s Turkmenistan office, to explore cooperation opportunities in smart energy, further strengthening its network of partnerships.
On October 25, the China HK Power delegation held a meeting with Ashir Begliyev, the Presidential Oil & Gas Advisor of Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov, and State Minister and Head of Turkmenistan’s Gas Concern Maksat Babayev. Both sides discussed the development and utilization of natural gas resources, investment in projects, and future collaboration models.
It is noteworthy that Turkmenistan’s first smart city, Arkadag, inaugurated its first phase this year. As a pioneering city in smart energy application, Arkadag extensively integrates digital and intelligent solutions. As a global operator in clean and green energy, China HK Power will provide significant support to the city’s low-carbon and smart infrastructure development.
With the deepening integration of China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative and Turkmenistan’s “Revival of the Silk Road” strategy, there is vast potential for Sino-Turkmen cooperation in natural gas and new energy sectors. Moving forward, China HK Power will continue to respond actively, focusing on client needs and increasing R&D investment to contribute to energy cooperation and sustainable development between China and Turkmenistan.
