On the morning of 20 May, the groundbreaking ceremony for the China HK Power Headquarters Manufacturing Base and R&D Centre Project was held in grand fashion in Yixing, Jiangsu Province. The event was attended by Mr. Hu Xiaojian, Secretary of the Yixing Municipal Committee of the CPC; Mr. Yu Renjun, Standing Committee Member of the Yixing Municipal Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of the Yixing Economic and Technological Development Zone; Mr. Di Shengjun, Party Leadership Member of the CPPCC Yixing Committee and Director of the Yixing Development and Reform Commission; Mr. Xu Wei, National Master of Engineering Survey and Design and Chairman of the HVAC Industry Technology Innovation Alliance; Mr. Li Guanghua, Chief Engineer of Hangzhou Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd.; Mr. Deng Yaobo, Executive Director and President of China HK Power Smart Energy Group Limited; Ms. Yu Yiting and Mr. Chen Leixin, Vice Presidents of the Group; and Mr. Huang Jianhui, Deputy General Manager of Power (Wuxi) Management Group. Leaders and guests from the Yixing Municipal Committee, Municipal Government, relevant departments of the Development Zone, and various industry partners gathered to jointly witness the commencement of this landmark project in the new energy sector.

In November 2024, the China HK Power Headquarters Manufacturing Base and R&D Centre Project was successfully approved as a National Key R&D Programme Technology Demonstration Project under the 14th Five-Year Plan (Demonstration Type: Zero-Carbon Building). The project covers an area of 60 mu with a total planned investment of RMB 750 million, and is positioned to become a modern green energy demonstration base built to zero-carbon factory standards. It will incorporate standardised production lines, robotic assembly lines, and intelligent warehousing systems, realising an Industry 4.0 intelligent manufacturing model. The facility will serve as a leading R&D hub in the industry, facilitating industrial transformation and upgrading, and propelling high-quality regional economic development.

At 9:00 a.m., the groundbreaking event officially commenced. In his speech, Mr. Yu Renjun extended congratulations on the successful launch of the project and highly affirmed China HK Power’s contributions to the development of green energy. He emphasised that Yixing will take this project as an opportunity to highlight its development philosophy of “Projects First, Optimal Services, and Efficiency Foremost,” adopting a model of dedicated project teams, full-process follow-up, and concierge-level services. He pledged that the city would closely follow the project timeline, maintain seamless coordination, and provide meticulous support to ensure early construction, early commissioning, and early realisation of benefits—injecting new momentum into Yixing’s ambition to become a strong and influential regional central city.

Mr. Deng Yaobo then provided a detailed introduction to the project’s planning and development journey, and expressed sincere gratitude to the Yixing Municipal Committee, Municipal Government, and Development Zone for their comprehensive support throughout the project preparation phase. He stated that as a pioneer in smart energy, China HK Power has been committed to the development of green intelligent energy. This project will focus on cutting-edge new energy technologies and provide full-industry-chain services including technical R&D, intelligent manufacturing, investment and development, and engineering operation & maintenance in the integrated energy field. It will not only empower China HK Power to seize strategic advantages in the fiercely competitive global new energy market, but will also serve as a strong engine supporting Yixing in becoming a hub for green and low-carbon industries and achieving high-quality development.

In his keynote address, special guest Mr. Xu Wei noted that against the backdrop of global climate change and China’s dual carbon strategy, energy transition is urgently needed. The China HK Power Headquarters Manufacturing Base and R&D Centre Project, targeting a “zero-carbon factory,” embodies carbon-reduction principles throughout the entire life cycle—from building design to production operations. This project not only brings renewed vitality to China HK Power’s development base, but also fully demonstrates the company’s sense of responsibility and leadership in advancing energy transition and fulfilling China’s dual carbon goals. It sets a benchmark for Yixing and the country in the new energy sector.

Amid warm applause, as the groundbreaking was officially announced and machinery roared into action, leaders joined hands in shovelling soil to lay the foundation for the project. This moment marked not only a major milestone in China HK Power’s development journey but also a new starting point towards green, low-carbon, and high-quality growth.

We firmly believe that with the care and support of Yixing’s leadership at all levels, and the concerted efforts of all participating teams, the project will be completed and commissioned as scheduled in 2026. In the future, it is destined to become a globally leading source of new energy innovation—and a powerful force driving the sustainable growth of Yixing’s green economy.
